I really enjoy music 🎶 from the 1940s, through most of the 1970s. Especially instrumentals. The music has a pace, a rhythm and mostly real instruments 🎷🎺🎸🎹 were used instead of recorded noises. With instrumentals you have a choice go at the pace of the music or at your own pace and you can change if you want. One of my favorite instrumentals is “Walk, Don’t Run” by the Ventures. It’s upbeat and makes me want to move. I can go with the flow of the music or do my own thing. Either one lets me enjoy the music and with either choice I don’t have to do what other people do.

“Walk! Don’t run!” Many a person has heard that at some point in their lives at a swimming pool. Regularly, going to pool, swimming and talking to people there is one thing I really look forward to being able to do normally again at some point. You can’t run at the pool but you can choose the pace you walk at as you head toward the pool.

That’s similar to your money journey with financial coaching. It’s yours and you’re not alone in the learning and evaluating but you choose your own pace as well. Like swimming with a buddy. It’s not doing the swimming for you it’s having someone to talk to, celebrate when things go well and help you in case of a problem.

Sometimes you want to move fast and other times you want to slow down and go at a different pace. They’re not the same but either will get you the result you want whether your groovin’ to the music, swimming along in the water or moving forward on your personal finance journey.
