These may be single use items that may or may not be recyclable. They may end up in landfills.

3. Water filtration: There are many types of systems that can address different things so some additional research may be necessary.

Pros: 

Solutions are available for either home or when you want to be on the go. 

Cleaner water. The water can be purer after going through these products.

Even with costs of instillation and maintenance, these can be more cost effective than single serve plastic water bottles over time.

Expense: Depending on what your goals are solutions can vary in price and features

Quantity: You may choose to have one for your home and something else you use when you are on the go.

May take longer to see more savings

Reusable plastic: You can go to a store online or in person and buy, for example, a gallon jug for as little as $0.99 Price and size of containers varies. 

Pros: 

Multiple servings available at once 

Can be used multiple times.

You can take them with you and refill when on the go.

Cons:

May have higher initial cost than single serve plastic bottle.

May not be recyclable.

Reusable metal container: 

Pros: 

Can hold water, coffee, tea or other liquid. 

Can hold multiple servings

May keep beverages hot or cold depending on features.

A one-time purchase may last a long time.

May see savings sooner over single serve plastic

Can be used while on the go

Cons:

Cost: can be more expensive on initial purchase than bottled water initially.

It’s more production materials used.

May not be recyclable.
